Our Smart Kid - Blogging About Our Smart Kid

We have decided to write a blog about our smart kid, and document and highlight things about him that are of interest or that come to mind.  It's not often as parents that we get to document everything that our children do, or tell our kids about them.  We're always being told as well that we have a smart child on our hands, so we decided to make this blog to document not only for us to remember down the line, but for our child to reflect back on and see his own progression, and why we, and many others call him a smart kid.  You're welcome to join us as we write about our son, and should another child come into our lives, as we add on another smart kid to the blog as well!  Enjoy!

Isaiah Making Beats??

Isaiah Making BeatsIsaiah is too funny sometimes, and that's why we enjoy him so much and are Blessed to have him in our lives.  I guess he decided to take it upon himself to imitate me.  We glanced at him and here he was, doing what he tends to see me do at times.  He loves to imitate and copycat (sometimes funny, sometimes it's not something we want him copying, lol).  I guess he wanted to have a session of his own and so here he was, imitating me at work!

We were trippin' because he managed to climb up on my chair and sit down on it, and decided to reach over and start hitting the keys like he was making beats!  Lol!  He's funny, and he was just pounding on them.  Granted, I actually wasn't making beats at that time, so the keyboard wasn't even on.  But he thought it was cool or funny to reach over and pound on them, as you can see.  He loves music, and we actually set up one of my older Casio keyboards for him to play with.  So when he wants to play with it, he'll turn it on and start hammering on the keys.  We're considering piano lessons for him in the near future, but not sure if we want to do that, or maybe put him in swim lessons instead.  We're sorta leaning a bit more with the swim lessons as it would benefit him more at this time.

He is very much into music though, and he picks up on songs pretty quick, just like his momma.  He knows a variety of songs now and when we ask him to sing them, he tends to go into routine.  We'll more than likely upload a video on another blog post.  We do have a musical child though, so maybe in a few years... he'll be making beats just like his daddy does now!  If your child starts showing signs of musical interest, definitely nudge them to do more with it.  It shows your child is eager to build on his or her creativity!  And from what we can see, Isaiah definitely is a creative child who loves music, piano, and other creative things.  He's already showing that he wants to draw too, imitating shapes he sees and drawing circles, squares, and learning triangles as well!  This kid amazes us all the time... that's why he's "Our Smart Kid" after all.
